Merry Christmas

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!
Don't forget to recycle wrapping paper, cards, tree etc. Use those lovely left-overs and feed your compost heap.

1st December

It was great to see some new faces at Len Marlow's film on Cuba last week. Everyone enjoyed the film and folowing discussion - a very big thankyou to Len.  Food for thought! Wouldn't it be great to start a community allotment project somewhere in the Bridgnorth area?
Thanks to Helen for providing Fair Trade refreshments.

Looking ahead

News of a couple of events coming up in the new year.
Dates have been fixed for a visit to Hobson's Brewery in Cleobury Mortimer. We are not just interested in sampling the beer but want to find out more about how they have adopted sustainable technologies in their set-up. This will be on February 22nd from 7.30pm to 930pm.
Before that there will be a chance to hear Veolia's plans for recycling in Bridgnorth and District on 26th January at the Methodist Hall , 7.30pm.

First post

Welcome to Sustainable Bridgnorth's first Blog. We meet every month at the Methodist church hall in Bridgnorth Cartway - our next meeting is 11th November. We welcome new members and new ideas!
Details of our spring and summer programme of events are to follow shortly.
Meanwhile do come along to the Methodist church hall for Len Marlow's film on Cuba on the 24th November. Join in the discussion - would you like to help develop ideas for community allotments, orchards or even farms in the area?
Last year we visited Fordhall Organic Farm, surveyed allotments in our area, showed the Soil Association film Food Inc. and had an interesting evening devoted to compost.
